Often when we try to make changes in our lives, we try to do a whole bunch of things differently all at once.
For example, I am in the midst of actively working on losing/releasing twenty pounds (the “mother load” I call it after having two babies in 18 months and then not sleeping through the night for over 4 years). Part of how I am doing this is with the following: 1) drinking lots of water 2) speed walking 4 kms. – 3x week 3) working out at the gym 3x week 4) eating healthy – small meals, more often 5) writing in my journal…paying attention to any emotional eating, 6) receiving massage to be present and relaxed in mind/body, and 7) I have told 3 close friends my goals to hold myself accountable to action/results.
As a coach, I support people to create goals and take action with their wellness and lifestyle goals, and while it can be helpful to have a plan with many action steps for success, it is also really important to trust that any one change can also bring about multiple positive results. It is like a mobile above a baby’s crib, if you touch one part, the whole thing moves/changes. So for example, with my weight loss efforts, even if I just exercised (did this one thing consistently) I would see results toward my goal.
Sometimes we can overwhelm ourselves with so much doing, so many tasks, that we can set ourselves up for failure as we strive to reach our health and wellness goals. Just for a moment, consider this one question:
What is one thing that you know, that if you did it in a regular way, would have a significant positive difference on your health and well-being? Please share your ideas here, post a comment, we learn from one another. Thanks!

I have just started practising Nichiren Buddhism and chanting Nam myoho renge kyo every day is giving me a greater belief in myself which is a having a very positive effect on my life.
Thanks for sharing Angie. Self-belief is so foundational to our overall satisfaction in life, work and relationships. Thanks for naming that here!
Hi Lynda, I love your intention to release the “mother load” of twenty pounds. You go girl! I have just begun to include HealthForce vitamineral greens in my green smoothie in the morning with a goal of reducing joint pain and stiffness from osteoarthritis. The power of one consistent action in support of health and wellbeing. Yay!
Thanks Becca! and thanks for leaving a comment here too – I am sure others will be interested to learn of HealthForce (I am going to check it out too).
